All day long I’ve been thinking… “Man, I should have worn tights. Or pants. Pants are always be best option”.
It’s still freezing and I’m still stubborn… which means I’m not wearing tights in March. It is spring and it’s time for these legs to see the sunshine! Seriously… they basically glow in the dark… but to be fair that rings true year round for me. Curse these Irish roots that blessed me with fair skin, light hair, and freckles… because all that equals sunburns.
Well look at me getting ahead of myself here! I won’t have to worry about sunburns for another two months!
Before we get to the outfit post… here’s another life update for ya! (You’ve missed these… I know you have).
This past year I discovered a new love in my life… 5 precious little British loves actually. If you haven’t guessed… it’s One Direction. I love them… well their music mainly because they are a little too young for me to love anything else! Go ahead… judge me.
Moving on! Today I’m switching it up a little with my little denim dress! Add a sweater, boots, and scarf and I almost can’t even tell it’s cold outside. (Jokes… I’m still freezing… like I said- Should have worn those tights!)
Sweet Hippie braid, right??
Dress: Macy’s, Sweater: Target, Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: Gifted, Belt: Target, Watch: Fossil
Like my scarf? See how else I’ve styled it here!
Happy Wednesday y’all! We’re half way to Friday people!
Now that we’re through Monday… just kidding, it wasn’t that bad.
This past weekend I went on a hardcore spring shopping spree. Not that I can really wear any of those new things just yet because it’s currently 37 degrees outside (what’s the deal Texas!? it’s supposed to be warm here!!) but I’m excited to share some of my new things with you!
Today I’m embracing the peplum trend… yes it took me a while to embrace this… with one of my favorite new spring buys from Francesca’s. I went with my black skinnies and a black sweater so that I could fight the frigid temperatures that Texas is currently offering.
These sunnies make me feel super sassy!
Or maybe it’s the heels…
Top: Francesca’s, Denim: H&M, Sweater: Macy’s, Shoes: Target, Necklace: Gifted, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bangles: Michael Kors, Sunnies: Forever21
Leave me some love ladies and gents!
And also do this…
And check me out on Pinterest here! Man I’m needy today!
Happy Monday folks! To get this week off on the right foot I’ll tell you a little story…
One Sunday I spent the afternoon napping and cleaning (mainly napping) but I also took the time to tackle the mound of dirty clothes piled in my closet. While I was moving the very first load from the washer to the dryer I noticed all of my clothes were getting hung on something. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the cause of the problem to be a pink plastic hanger.
That’s right… I washed one of my hangers yesterday. That’s almost as fantastic as the time I attempted to cook a frozen pizza on a plastic cutting board (I was a lot younger then…). Clearly I am a domestic diva.
Anyways… Today I am supporting one of my favorite stores in full force. I’ve paired my navy striped JCrew dress with a cargo jacket and boots. Topping it off with a belt and a JCrew bubble necklace!
Dress: JCrew Outlet, Jacket: H&M, Boots: Steve Madden, Belt: Target, Necklace: JCrew, Watch: Marc By Marc Jacobs, Bangles: Michael Kors
Want another fun fact? I almost titled this post “Nautical Nonsense”… I opted for something else because all I could do after typing that was sing the Sponge Bob theme song… embarrassing.
Today I woke up thinking about how unbelievably blessed I am. So naturally, I would like to share that with anyone who will listen! This will be the first of a little mini series for me- I’ve seen these on other blogs before so we’ll see how this goes.
Every Friday I will focus on what happiness is to me! Here goes nothing…
Happiness is spending Thursday night with your favorite guy cooking dinner and watching Movies.
Happiness is Friday at the end of a long and difficult work week.
Happiness is good friends coming back from long vacations.
Happiness is knowing that you are never too old to receive Easter packages from your parents.
Happiness is seeing God’s beauty through the changing weather.
Happiness is wearing your favorite scarf in your favorite color, which I was able to do today!
Top: Francesca’s, Denim: H&M, Boots: Bakers, Scarf: Gifted, Watch: Fossil
Leave me some feedback as to what your happiness is! And also… I noticed I’ve been wearing the same type of pants in all of my post… I promise I own other clothes! And I promise to share those with you soon!
Happy Friday Ladies and Gents!

Remember a few posts back when my life update included a fun fact about my favorite basketball team? Well let me tell you… they took disappointment to a whole new level this year. For those of you that don’t know, March is the best time of year for college basketball. Unless of course your favorite team doesn’t make the NCAA tournament and then they are thrown in to the NIT (
which roughly translates to Not In Tournament) and then lose in the first round!!!
That’s what Kentucky did this year. So I showed my team spirit by not wearing an single piece of royal blue today (or yesterday)! I bet that really showed ’em!
Since I will be avoiding royal blue for a few months I decided to bring in the second day of spring with a fun coral scarf! If you haven’t noticed my style tends to be pretty casual and today is no different. It has gotten a little chilly out again so I’ve bundled up a little by wearing a big scarf and denim jacket.
Top: Target, Denim: H&M, Jacket: Old Navy, Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: H&M, Watch: Fossil
I’m hoping the weather will warm back up soon and stay that way for a while… until then I’ll be hanging on to hints of spring like my bright scarf! Leave me some love!
There’s just something about Texas that makes me want to wear flannel and boots and cowboy hats and maybe walk around with a long piece of straw hanging out of my mouth…
I’m totally kidding… it’s too hot to wear flannel in Texas.
No but seriously, flannel is another trend I love and I hope it sticks around for a little while. It’s casual and comfy and, if worn the right way, pretty dang cute. Today’s outfit post is honestly not what I’m wearing today… it’s a little flash back to a couple of Saturday’s ago when my sister and I took a quick visit to the Dallas Farmers Market.
Top: Forever21, Denim: H&M, Boots: Steve Madden
Before I sign off for the day I will leave you with a fun little fact about me… my favorite thing about the farmers market is not the incredibly good deal you can get on any fruit or vegetable you can imagine. No, no, my favorite thing is the BBQ restaurant inside the famers market. This place makes the best mac & cheese and fried okra you could ever imagine. If you ever get the chance to visit Dallas I highly recommend dining at this fine establishment!
Hey, Hey Ladies and Gents! It’s Monday and you know what that means… actually you probably don’t considering this is a new blog… So let me explain. Monday’s are lazy days. And at Fossil… that totally flies wardrobe wise. I’m a pretty lucky girl and very blessed in all aspects of my life, but I’m especially thankful for the dress code at the office.
On this episode of lazy Monday… I’m rocking a classic T with black skinnies and sandals. Let me just tell you how excited I am to break out my sandals… super excited. Seriously… it makes my week. To spice up my lazy Monday attire I decided to embrace the neon trend that seems to be popping up these days.
Top: Target, Denim: H&M, Sandals: Target, Necklace: Ebay, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs
O did I forget to mention that lazy Monday’s also means I’m not doing a thing to my hair? I’m taking bed head to a whole new level.
Alright… let me know what you think… Neon: love it or leave it??
Well hello ladies and gents… today is going to be short and sweet (on this page at least). Hop on over to Style Diary by Katie to check out my first ever guest post. While Miss Katie is making her way through Europe we’ve been sharing spring styles we are most excited about. So… enjoy a little teaser and be sure to check out the full post here.
But I can’t let you leave without another fun fact!
For my 24th birthday I went on my first (and quite possibly last) back packing trip. It was an amazing experience- although I probably shouldn’t have gone just a few weeks after dealing with a beast of an illness… most commonly known as pneumonia.
Leave me some love and be sure to check out Katie’s page!
So we’ve changed our clocks… and by that I mean we lost an hour of sleep… all of the stores have put out their new spring inventory and yet it’s still freezing in Texas! Ok… freezing may be an exaggeration but it’s still below 70 and in my book that means its winter. I don’t know about you guys but I’m over cold weather (honestly, I’m always over cold weather). I want to bust out my shorts, short sleeves, and most of all sandals!
But, I can’t. So today its boots and scarves again. Before we get to that I need to give you all another life update!
I bought a new car! Her name is Matilda and she is beautiful. You can catch a little glimpse of her here (she’s in the background of my first photo)!
On to today’s outfit- which feels pretty fall to me and that brings me back to my “it’s supposed to be spring!” argument. Today I’ve got on a light weight striped sweater and what appears to be becoming my signature style of black skinnies and brown boots. To spice it up a little I’ve added a mustard knit scarf (that was a key piece of my fall/winter wardrobe), skinny brown belt, and gold accessories.
Top: Target, Denim: H&M, Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: H&M, Belt: Target, Watch: Fossil
Feel free to share all of your “I wish spring would get here already” comments for me!
And we’re back… Monday. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Not to worry (because I’m sure you were all sitting on the edge of your seats) I was able to get both Ihop and Chicken Express this weekend… only the best places when family is in town…
Besides eating… this weekend was also full of time with friends, shopping, watching Kentucky beat Florida, church, movies, and quality sister time. Needless to say, it was a fabulous weekend. And if you’re in the mood to see a new funny movie I suggest Identity Theft… not exactly hilarious but it is good for some laughs.
Today’s little life update is… drum roll please…
I officially became a resident of the state of Texas in 2012. I suppose that means I will be here for a while!
Now back to business… it’s casual Monday for me, but let’s be real when you work at an office that doesn’t require your typical office attire most days are casual. It’s still pretty chilly so I went with an easy win and paired my chambray top with black skinnies and boots. Of course I couldn’t leave home without my signature accessories… floral scarf, gold jewelry, and a Fossil handbag.
