Today will be short and sweet… because I’m pretty sure I said enough yesterday to last for two weeks!
Let’s skip past the chatting and just get to today’s outfit.
I don’t know how you all feel about animal print but I’ll be honest, it scares me. When I found this dress at Target I was so nervous to get it but I put on my big girl pants and decided to try something new. I’ve paired it with a chambray top and nude heels to calm down the print. And of course, I couldn’t leave home without some fancy red lips!

Anyone else see a pattern here (not the dress the stores)… apparently its a Forever21 and Target day!
Have a great weekend, folks!
Happy Monday ladies and gents! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I definitely did!
What did it consist of? Well… let me just tell you.
Shopping. Lots and lots of shopping (mainly for decor for the new apartment I’ll be moving to in a few weeks). Quality time with my mom watching HGTV. Delicious food (home cooked and eating out). Church. Visits to the farmers market. And wrapping it up with a little Harry Potter.
I also ventured outside of my norm when it came to outfits this weekend. I bought a new chambray shirt from Forever21 a few weeks ago and I’ve been searching for the best ways to wear it. I think I found a few options this weekend!
First, I went with the denim on denim look for work on Friday. Of course, I always keep things casual so I paired this with gold sandals and simple gold jewelry.
Then on Saturday (yes… I wore the same top two days in a row. Judge all you want) I went super casual with mint shorts and sandals. This was perfect for a sunny day strolling through the famers market!

So you wanna know what the boyfriend’s comment on this top was? Since he wasn’t a fan of my wallpaper pants (check them out here… they are fantastic!) I assumed he wouldn’t be a fan of these festive shoulders. But surprisingly, he was- I can’t remember what his exact quote was but I know it was something along the lines of… “No, I like that top. Make’s you look more Texas”
Which way do you like best, denim or shorts? You can also see a similar outfit worn by the lovely Katie at Style Diary Blog here!
Have you ever gotten out of your car in a parking garage mid song, (by mid song I mean you were belting it out in your car and you just weren’t ready to stop singing) and then you look up at your friend and they are laughing at you? Then you turn around (still singing) and realize there is a complete stranger right there with a front row seat to your little mini concert?
Yep. That happened. And it wasn’t the first time. That was actually back in college… because it’s been SOO many years (only two)… when I rounded the corner of my dorm while rocking out the Free Credit Report.com commercial.
If you haven’t had one of those moments… I’ll just go ahead and tell you… they are awkward.
Want another awkward story?
Have you ever tried to ride a bike for the first time since you were probably 13 years old?
It’s really not as easy as they say it is. I won’t go into details but imagine me trying to cross the road, while cars are waiting. Trust me… it was probably worse that you are imagining.
Have you ever taken outfit photos in a maxi dress and half way through think a bee flew up your dress? Imagine that reaction.
Thankfully, I was able to get a few pics before the bee fiasco.
To go with today’s awkward theme… you want to see how you shouldn’t stand in a maxi dress?
Legs crossed. It doesn’t do anything good… at all.

Happy Monday Folks, I hope it’s jam packed with awesomely awkward moments!
All day long I’ve been thinking… “Man, I should have worn tights. Or pants. Pants are always be best option”.
It’s still freezing and I’m still stubborn… which means I’m not wearing tights in March. It is spring and it’s time for these legs to see the sunshine! Seriously… they basically glow in the dark… but to be fair that rings true year round for me. Curse these Irish roots that blessed me with fair skin, light hair, and freckles… because all that equals sunburns.
Well look at me getting ahead of myself here! I won’t have to worry about sunburns for another two months!
Before we get to the outfit post… here’s another life update for ya! (You’ve missed these… I know you have).
This past year I discovered a new love in my life… 5 precious little British loves actually. If you haven’t guessed… it’s One Direction. I love them… well their music mainly because they are a little too young for me to love anything else! Go ahead… judge me.
Moving on! Today I’m switching it up a little with my little denim dress! Add a sweater, boots, and scarf and I almost can’t even tell it’s cold outside. (Jokes… I’m still freezing… like I said- Should have worn those tights!)
Sweet Hippie braid, right??
Dress: Macy’s, Sweater: Target, Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: Gifted, Belt: Target, Watch: Fossil
Like my scarf? See how else I’ve styled it here!
Happy Wednesday y’all! We’re half way to Friday people!
And we’re back… Monday. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Not to worry (because I’m sure you were all sitting on the edge of your seats) I was able to get both Ihop and Chicken Express this weekend… only the best places when family is in town…
Besides eating… this weekend was also full of time with friends, shopping, watching Kentucky beat Florida, church, movies, and quality sister time. Needless to say, it was a fabulous weekend. And if you’re in the mood to see a new funny movie I suggest Identity Theft… not exactly hilarious but it is good for some laughs.
Today’s little life update is… drum roll please…
I officially became a resident of the state of Texas in 2012. I suppose that means I will be here for a while!
Now back to business… it’s casual Monday for me, but let’s be real when you work at an office that doesn’t require your typical office attire most days are casual. It’s still pretty chilly so I went with an easy win and paired my chambray top with black skinnies and boots. Of course I couldn’t leave home without my signature accessories… floral scarf, gold jewelry, and a Fossil handbag.
Top: Madewell, Denim: H&M, Boots: Steve Madden, Scarf: Target, Watch: Fossil, Handbag: Fossil
