Sunshine on Monday

One week ago I got the keys and signed the lease for a brand new apartment! I’m all moved in but still in the HGTV decorating process. So be prepared for some posts that will make this seem like an interiors blog in the next week or so!

Until then, I’ll stay on the style track. Starting with these yellow pants I found last summer at Target. I thought I should bring a little sunshine to your Monday!

Five Things and Floral

This past Monday I was tagged by the lovely Miss Reid over at The Fashion Blender for another 5 things about me post.

And even though I participated in this a few weeks ago… I just couldn’t resist sharing some more fun facts with you all!

1. I’m a math nerd. Remember how there was always that one token kid in every math class that finished their test first? Well, I was that kid. And lucky for me, I was blessed with a career that blends my love of fashion and math (I know, strange combination, but that’s real life people).

2. Country music is my jam. Give me Luke Bryan, a pick up truck, and summer nights and I’m the happiest girl in the world.

3. I’m obsessed with Bride Friday on TLC. I would rather sit at home eating a homemade pizza watching Say Yes To The Dress than going out on a Friday. It’s a problem. Not to worry, the boyfriend knows about this obsession (at least I think he does), and I’ve made it very clear that the obsession stems from how beautiful I think bridal gowns are. And, let’s be real, how ridiculous some of those people can be.

4. I want a goldendoodle puppy more than almost anything else right now. What’s holding me back? Well two things, my roommate would kill me and I think it would just be mean to keep a dog the size of a large goldendoodle locked up in an apartment all day. So I will wait… until I have a house!

5. My two go to accessories are belts and scarves. Getting ready for church this past Sunday was a struggle for me because I moved all of my belts and most of my scarves to my new apartment (praise! I’m almost completely moved in) so I didn’t know what to wear!

Speaking of accessories… here’s a quick outfit post of how I combine the two for spring!

Obsessed… in a good way

Random thought of the week…

Over the past week I’ve been obsessed with Kelly Clarkson’s new song featuring Vince Gill, Don’t Rush, (listen to it here). Seriously, I’ve listened to it at least 50 times in the past two days. I think I have a problem.

But I’m also in love with the outfit I wore last Sunday (which in my book is a little more socially acceptable…). My current roommate and friend found this for me last year for my birthday and while I’ve worn it many times I just haven’t been in love with it like I should be. Until my lovely mother found me a braided gold belt and I purchased some new nude pumps. I don’t know what it is about combining all those things together but I just love it! Wanna see it? Perfect because it’s my outfit of the day….

Feeling Blue

Happy Wednesday folks!

Did everyone catch the NCAA tourney Monday night?? I sure did. I suppose if my team can’t win at least they kept the championship within the state of Kentucky… even if it was our rival team that won it all- with our old coach.

I’m not bitter at all about the NIT… and losing in the first round…

In other news, I’m in hot pursuit of a new handbag! I’m looking for something in a bright color like coral or cobalt and I just can’t find anything! Any suggestions for me? (Seriously, I’m getting a little desperate).

Anyways… enough with the random life tidbits… let’s talk outfit of the day! I just got these sweet patterned pants (which my wonderful boyfriend so kindly told me that they remind him of wallpaper… whatever, I love them) on my spring shopping spree a few weeks ago. It feels like its been months since I added these to my closet but the weather is just now cooperating with me! Since I’m slightly scared of bold patterns I opted for a pant with a small navy pattern on white then I paired them with a navy tank and denim jacket for a monochromatic look. Once again I topped it off with gold jewelry (the necklace was another purchase from my spring spree!!) and gold sandals!

Chambray Monday

Chambray 1

And we’re back… Monday. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Not to worry (because I’m sure you were all sitting on the edge of your seats) I was able to get both Ihop and Chicken Express this weekend… only the best places when family is in town…

Besides eating… this weekend was also full of time with friends, shopping, watching Kentucky beat Florida, church, movies, and quality sister time. Needless to say, it was a fabulous weekend. And if you’re in the mood to see a new funny movie I suggest Identity Theft… not exactly hilarious but it is good for some laughs.

Today’s little life update is… drum roll please…

I officially became a resident of the state of Texas in 2012. I suppose that means I will be here for a while!

Now back to business… it’s casual Monday for me, but let’s be real when you work at an office that doesn’t require your typical office attire most days are casual. It’s still pretty chilly so I went with an easy win and paired my chambray top with black skinnies and boots. Of course I couldn’t leave home without my signature accessories… floral scarf, gold jewelry, and a Fossil handbag.

Spring Fever

Blog Photos 6

Happy Friday everyone! While you are all in school or working, I’ll be spending the day with my sister (who came to see me all the way from Georgia!). We will be relaxing, eating at all of the best places in Dallas (my vote is Ihop and Chicken Express…. seriously though), visiting the aquarium, and exploring the big D. It’s ok if you’re jealous… I would be too.

Here are two quick life updates before we get to today’s outfit:

1. After spending a quick 6 months in my initial position at Fossil, Inc. I was promoted!! I’ve been in my new position for just over 8 months now and I’ve loved almost every minute of it. This girl is incredibly blessed.

2. My favorite basketball team- The University of Kentucky Wildcats- won the 2012 NCAA National Championship. Then all of the starters went to the NBA. The 2013 has been sad…

Back to clothes! Today I’ve got spring fever! It was beautiful outside but still pretty chilly so I paired my favorite floral top with some black skinnies and brown boots. To make this weather appropriate I added on my favorite denim jacket. Then I finished the look off with my skinny¬†yellow belt and gold accessories to accent!
